Mr M El-Rakshy Pain Management Service lead // Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Management
Qualifications: FFARCS
I have been a fully qualified Pain Management Consultant for the last 11 years. I am a fully Accredited Member of The British Medical Acupuncture Society, The International Spine Intervention Society and The Pain Society. I am one of the first clinicians to have a Masters Degree in Pain Management which I obtained from Cardiff University in 2000.
My interest in Pain and Chronic Pain Management is more than a job it is a challenge and I thrive to keep updated and introduce new techniques which might help my patients. For example, recently, I have been certified to do a denovation of the sacro iliac joint and aqua discoplasty which addresses discogenic low back pain. This is a technique which uses a new method of radiofrequency aiming at addressing low back pain due to sacro iliac joint involvement or low back pain due to disc prolapse. The technique was developed only 3 years’ ago and is now gaining powerful ground due to its impressive results. This is only an example of how I continue to develop my technique and approach to tackle pain.
At the same time I practice hypnosis, relaxation and reflexology, I combine the conservative approach with the interventional approach.
